Sometimes its correct to stand against the tide. Last month I was the sole
vote against Yarra’s 2005/06 budget - the 3 ALP, 3 Green and 2 right-wing
independent Councillors all voted in favour.

This pamphlet was written by Billy Stephens (Stephen Boyd, Northern Ireland) in July 1987. However, the lessons and analysis are as relevant today as they were when it was written. This pamphlet gives great practical and historical examples of the revolutionary role of youth. On August 6th 1945 the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later on August 9th another bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki. In Hiroshima alone over 80,000 people were killed and by the end of 1945 at least another 70,000 people had died from radiation sickness. It is estimated that almost 250,000 have died since then from the devastating effects of the bomb.
