Bali Bombings: For workers unity against terrorism and war
The Socialist Party utterly condemns the latest bombings that have taken place in Bali. Twenty two people have been confirmed dead after bombs exploded in three packed tourist restaurants on the small Indonesian island last night. Almost 100 others were also injured.

Whilst no one has claimed responsibilty, it has been widely reported that Jemaah Islamiah (JI) may have been responsible. JI has also been accused of the 2002 Bali bombings and several other terror bombings in Indonesia.
The Socialist Party notes that it is clear that John Howard’s foreign policies are playing a large part in helping to make Australian tourists terrorist targets in Indonesia. In particular his role in East Timor and more recently Iraq.
We call for workers unity against both the reactionary terrorist organisations and the policies of the Howard government.
