Dear members and supporters of the Socialist Party (CWI Australia),

We are thankful to all the trade unionists, activists, union branches, left and socialist activists and individuals, who sent protest and solidarity messages to support the 65000 telecom workers, during the 3 week long strike and 7 week long struggle against the privatisation of state owned telecom company.

Your solidarity and support played very important and key role during this historical struggle. Your letters of protest pressurised the government to release all the arrested workers and leaders.

This support also held the Pakistani government back from using violence and state machine against the peaceful striking workers. Your support also prevented the mass sackings of active members of the Action Committee. Your solidarity and support is a living example of the workers internationalism. Without your support it was entirely possible that government would have taken more repressive measures against striking telecom workers.
