Why I joined the Socialist Party
I joined the Socialist Party because capitalism has shown its weakness in this time of economic crisis. If you are seeking an alternative to capitalism you should think about joining the Socialist Party as well.

I found the Socialist Party about two months ago at my university. I read some of their pamphlets and went to a meeting. I realised that the Socialist Party is very different to the Stalinist parties that claim to be socialist. Unlike other parties, the Socialist Party looks at the real conditions of working class people and the environment. It sees that under capitalism the working class, who produce everything, are left behind. The Socialist Party calls for a new way of organising society.
I was impressed with the program of the party which includes nationalising industry under workers control to protect jobs and the environment and reducing working hours without loss of pay. This is only the beginning of what the Socialist Party stands for.
These demands will only be achieved by mass struggle and in the process workers will see the need for socialism. The current financial crisis will trigger movements that want to establish an alternative world order. I want to be part of these movements, that’s why I joined the Socialist Party.
