The Long Dark Night of the Arms Trade

June 21 from 7pm till late at Trades Hall. Corner of Lygon & Victoria Streets Carlton. This is a benefit gig for the campaign to stop the Asia Pacific Defence & Security Exhibition, scheduled to open on Remembrance Day 2008 in Adelaide.
This will be the first Arms Fair in Australia since we stoped AIDEX in ‘91!

Rally outside of Elliot Engineering court case

Meet at 9.30am on Monday June 23 at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court, 39 Ringwood Street Ringwood. Anthony Elliott, the boss of Elliot Engineering is the defendant in a trial arising out of a community assembly in May 2007. Elliot faces a number of serious charges relating to driving a truck through a picket line. Some SP members will be witnesses in the case. We need your support to make sure this violent employer is put behind bars!

SP Public Meeting - The state of health in Australia

June 25, 7pm at Trades Hall on the corner of Lygon & Victoria Sts, Carlton.
SP member and nurse Denise Dudley will speak on the current state of health and outline a socialist solution to the problems facing the sector.

Stop the tunnel organising meeting

June 26, 7pm at Fitzroy Town Hall on the corner of Moor and Napier Streets Fotzroy.
Come along and help us organise a campaign to stop the proposed tunnel linking the Eastern Freeway to Melbourne ‘s west.
